THE WHAT? Coty has announced the launch of a digitally-enabled, touch-less fragrance testing device that it is set to install across beauty retailers over the next year.

THE DETAILS Real-world testing of the device, which was developed in partnership with Everie, will commence at bricks and mortar stores in key European stores this month, followed by a trial in Asia later this year.

The device is said to provide a less invasive testing experience versus traditional sprays, releasing a single droplet of liquid directly onto an arm or blotter, which has the added advantage of reducing waste.

THE WHY? Claire Catherine-Mercier, Vice President Retail Experience, reveals, “Coty’s touch-less fragrance tester is a breakthrough innovation developed in partnership with Êverie. With the return of in-person shopping, the health and safety of our consumers are always at the forefront of our minds. Deploying a single drop of liquid to the skin with the same restitution as traditional testers, this new technology eliminates unnecessary waste and offers a safe, contact-free alternative for testing.”
