THE WHAT? Platinum Equity has announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Solenis from Clayton, Dubilier & Rice and BASF in a transaction that values the specialty chemicals supplier at US$5.25 billion.

THE DETAILS Under the terms of the deal, Solenis is expected to merge with existing Platinum Equity company, Sigura Water. Solenis CEO John Panichella will continue to lead the combined company following the transition and integration.
